Experience Is The Best Teacher
Everyday, we are conscious of ourselves. We judge almost everything from the physical appearance and understanding. Majority are not aware of the spiritual dimension of life and as a result do not pay much attention to it or put it into consideration when making decisions and taking actions. The bad effect is that people are everyday busy entangling themselves with the all forms of worldliness, when in fact they should be dissociating themselves from carnality.
As we do spiritual practice and grow in spirit, we begin to perceive the spiritual dimensions of life. If we persist in the practice, we become more attuned to the spiritual and can then see, perceive or understand it more and more. The wise saints continue seeking until he finds the Ultimate Truth, God, who is the Manifest but Hidden Truth. Then the saint is able to understand and experience God within himself and as separate from himself. This is called God-realization or overcoming the world, which Jesus emphasized.
The saint is always aware of God’s presence in and around himself. This is called God Consciousness. This is heaven and attainment of God. It requires solitude, quiet times, mediation, silent habit and selfless service, which many are not ready and willing to offer. The more we pay attention to the guiding Holy Spirit, the more we grow and mature in spirit, and the more we are able to experience and manifest the qualities and power of God. Spiritual emotion is experiencing of any of the qualities of God as one’s personal state of being. Then, we see like God, hear like God, think like God, know like God, speak like God and act like God. The experience or disposition is spontaneous, automatic and perfect.
In our everyday spiritual growth, experience is very important. Those who only believe may not know when they are being led astray. The person who does not know the way believes whatever his told. But the one who knows the Truth is able to differentiate what is true from what is false. Pray earnestly for spiritual experiences, real-life encounters and visits to heaven. The only one who teaches the Truth is the person who knows the Truth. And they are very few that actually know the Truth.
Do not just read your holy books and stop at that. Pray God to make you experience what you read. True Christianity is compulsory, both theoritically and practically.
